Hey Zoo I hope you can help me with a problem with my computer. Sometimes I'll have one or more messages on Facebook that tell me it looks like I don't have Java Script enabled. Can you tell me how to check and see and if I don't have it enabled how I go about doing so? I'd ask my daughter but all I get out of her is "play around with your computer & you'll figure it out". If I thought I could do that I would have done so some time ago. I've been trying to find somewhere here that I could go and learn about things like that without it costing a fortune, and of course I need to go during the day as I don't like being out after dark where I live. Thanks for any help you can be with this matter.

I'll be happy to help. To give you specific instructions I need to know what browser you are using. (including the version number) To find the version number you click "help" then "about" on the top line of your browser.

Molly, for the help with learning a little about your computer check out any seniors and/or community centers, library's, community collages (seniors get a deep discount IIRC) also at your local Office Depot, Office Max, Micro Center etc, etc if they know of any classes offered.
Also once again Google and YouTube are good places to learn about your computer. It never ceases to amaze me what is on Google and YouTube. I got a Kindle Fire and there must be hundreds of videos on YouTube with tips and tricks on using it.

Thank you ladies. Zoo I'm using Firefox, I think it's 10 from what I saw following your instructions. The computer came with Windows 7 Home whatever it's called. Other than that I haven't much of a clue about it.
Hussy I took the computer classes offered at the library branch I use and there was nothing said about Java Script. I also took classes offered by the city in order to be more likely to find an office postion for work, it didn't work as at the time I didn't have a home computer and there was nothing about it in those classes either.
I'll check out You Tube and Google and see what I can find out and if it will help me at all.

Ok, now to start I'm pretty sure you have java script enabled because you can post on this forum. To check on your browser you click "tools" at the top of your browser, then "options" then the "content" tab .. and look to see of the box is clicked to enable java script.
Let me know what that says and we'll go from there.
Oh, do you kow if you have any ad blocking add ons or software on your computer?

Okay I checked and the box for Java Script is checked so as I expected it's probably on the FB site which makes it something I'm not all that worried about. As long as I can post here and at BWH's forum and EE's forum I'm not all that worried. I can post on FB even though for some reason I can't read some of the posts, makes no sense to me and after this I'm wondering if the trouble isn't with the computer of the person posting. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.
